"El Libro Amarillo" emerges as a distinctive publication from El Palacio de Hierro, playing the role of a style guide where it not only presents relevant fashion trends and news, but also weaves expressive narratives that provide context to the featured articles.
For the jewelry section in this edition, the narrative concept was the Greek beauty, personified by the name "Leda" is embraced. Leda, which according to its etymology, means "happy woman," as she captivated the God Zeus with her incomparable beauty. This ancient myth serves as the inspiring starting point that shaped the graphic illustration proposal.
The visual treatment I developed draws inspiration from delicate and harmonious silhouettes taken from images of sculptures from Ancient Greece. Here, the focus lies in accentuating the expression of characteristic features, such as the cascade of hair and the orientation of the face, to illustrate graphic representations that radiate grace and naturalness, without forsaking their iconic character.
The outcome of this process is a contrast between the backgrounds, the jewelry, and the delicacy of the illustration, causing the jewelry pieces from TIFFANY & CO., H.STERN, POMELLATO, and CARTIER to shine prominently. Collectively, illustration and jewelry work together to infuse vitality into the presence of the characters.
